Waste products produce as per the availability of nutrition and its usage in the body. The different nutritional components convert into energy and end up as a waste. Now, these wastes come out at different organs of the body at different timings of the day. Generally, this output depends on energy utilization and environment. Here is the basic information for a beginner of Yoga Teacher training.

S. No Metabolic reaction Organ
1 Cellular respiration leaves CO2 Lungs
2 Heat from circulation removes water and salt at sweat glands Skin
3 Lactic acid during anaerobic cellular respiration Liver
4 Ammonia convert into Urea at liver Kidney
5 Amino acids convert into Ammonia at liver Kidney
6 Food & water convert into minerals and salts Kidney
7 Creatinine, Drugs, Hydrogen Kidney
8 ¼ water, ¼ solid (undigested and unabsorbed food, intestinal secretions, mucous, bile pigments, bile salts, bacteria, leukocytes) Anus

Here the common point of focus should be in the form of waste like; gas, vapor, liquid and solid. The gases are easy to come out through breathing, vapors come out during intense practices, liquid takes little more time to comes out as urine, solids takes some more time to come out as feces. The time for excretions is based on the region of their formation, distance from formation to excretion point and energy expenditure. The output of the body is not comparably less than the internal components which is of food intake, expenditure, and the waste formation. The waste products inside slowly convert into a dangerous material called as toxins. By the end of the day, the biological rhythm will remove all theses wastes as urine & feces soon after long rest (Sleep). Hence the regular bowel activities are the signs of healthy life.

Yoga Practice and Detoxification:

These processes of excretion on a regular basis constitute the natural detoxification. Techniques like; relaxed and intense asana, pranayama, kriya, meditation, bandha and mudra are also similar to these processes of the body. Asana maximum for the physical body, Pranayama maximum for gas exchanges, kriya for cleaning with water & salts balance, meditation for rejuvenation, bandha, and mudra to understand the stamina. That is how Yoga is an ancient science and became a lifestyle. Now is the situation to realize the relation of combining all these techniques for good health.

  1. Asana: encourages the energy conversion processes at liver (Heat, Liquid & Solid).
  2. Pranayama: reduces the minute ventilation and encourages parasympathetic nervous system at lungs (Gases). Hence much relaxed breathing removes CO
  3. Kriya: dilutes and removes the mucus, dead cells, extra materials (Solids).
  4. Meditation: Internal awareness gives a chance to observe the changes of all these practices. Adapting to those new changes can remove wrong notions and emotions. This is the process of mental detoxification.
  5. Mudra & Bandha: eases the observation ability.

Instead of one technique, the student has to practice all yoga techniques and get natural detoxification. So, attendance is the responsibility of a teacher who makes sure about the health and growth of the student. Hence the yoga training courses should not intend to just certification, but Intend to give an experience of the Yoga lifestyle. Through Yoga courses, one can taste the Yoga life which can be taken forward for self and for society.
